Jamaican Dandelion Plant (Cassia Occidentalis) Powdered Roots/Leaves. In Jamaica, the plant is mainly used for colds; it is also use to treat back pain, kidney and bladder problems, as a liver tonic and for shortness of breath. Used for hundreds of years in different continents, every part of this tiny plant can be used for a range of health benefits. First, the leaves can be diced up and used as a flavouring spice or garnish.
